The single most important way to contribute and support the South Middle River Civic Asscociation is through your memberhip as a household, owner and/or resident. Your membership provides South Middle River Civic Association the “numbers” which lets our City Staff, Elected Officials, and other important partners that we are “united” and strong.
Please join today if you are not already a member. The form is downloadable and print-ready. Take a few moments and join us today. Our meetings are perhaps the second most important way you can show your support and make a difference. Currently our General Membership meetings are the fourth Tuesday of each month and are held at:
Recreation Room at 501 NW 17th Street, Fort Lauderdale, next to Community Garden
Meetings are called to order at 6:45 p.m and the objective is to adjourn by 8:00 p.m. and leave each of you with a smile and feeling a sense of community and accomplishment.

Promote participation and membership in the South Middle River Civic Association through education and interaction with all segments of the neighborhood. Create a strong and consistent membership drive initiative that creates an exciting and visible presence at all SMR events. Develop a sense of welcome and neighborhood for all new residents. Find mutually beneficial synergy with SMRCA committee structure.
Some Specific Activity Examples:
- Coordinate the best meeting sites and support SMRCA Board in organizing food, signs and anything that will promote membership continued growth.
- Telephone calling campaigns to remind members about meetings and renewing memberships
- Design and order new signs for membership drives and to remind residents and Members of upcoming meetings.
