An Invitation to South Middle River Residents from Tim Smith:

 

Margaret Bates is running for the Broward County District 9 Commissioner seat. She is the only candidate that has agreed ( in writing ) to support that district’s residents by pushing to bring the County TIF money to the new CRA which affects our area….get Bates elected….come to the Middle River Terrace Park on Sat. Aug. 21st at 5 pm and join the rally !!

M. Margaret Bates, 9th District Primary on August 24th, is the only candidate willing to
pledge the County TIF for the new C.R.A. She has agreed in writing to support
the full County TIF for our new C.R.A.  

Tim Smith is hosting a campaign rally for her at the Middle River Terrace Park on

Dixie Hwy on Saturday the 21st at 5 PM.  

I have yard signs if you would like one. I will deliver the signs to your home or
you can pick them up at LeatherWerks.

Following is a message from President, Doug Sterner, regarding a school supply drive.  Please share with your Civic Associations and distribution lists.  Enjoy the rest of the summer before school and fall schedules reconvene.  See you at the September Council meeting!

The Council of Fort Lauderdale Civic Associations in cooperation with the downtown Fort Lauderdale Rotary Club is organizing a “BACK to SCHOOL”  drive to collect school supplies  (and new and not-so-new toys) for grades 1-5.    The donations will be delivered to the Fort Lauderdale YMCA and  the  Boys and Girls Club to be distributed at their discretion to a) needy kids and to b) promote and award good civic behavior. Donations can be conveniently dropped off at Carroll’s Jewelers at 915 E. Las Olas Blvd during regular business hours until Monday, August 16, 4:00 pm.
 
We request that a sponsor provide the necessary supplies for one child, and share this collection drive with friends and family.  Thank you in advance for your support and generosity.   For further information, please contact Jorg Hruschka, Rotary Club, Community Service Chair, at (954) 709-3197 or jhrusch@hotmail.com.  Attached is a grade specific supply list:

4 packages of 12 pencils 1 pencil case or box
