The membership and Board of Directors of SMRCA are concerned with neighborhood improvement, safety, and security, and our community image and lifestyle. SMRCA is there to help members and residents with structure, and to find and use a common voice. SMRCA is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. If you are not already a member, and rent or own in this neighborhood, please join today, and become a part of your future.

After a long, successful process several years ago, the South Middle River Civic Association (SMRCA) obtained its 501c3 (non-profit) status. Not every civic association has this status or acquires it automatically. To achieve this status, SMRCA showed a history of minutes, records, qualifying information, and other pre-requisites that had to be met. It is a great responsibility to maintain this prestigious standing and SMRCA’s members should educate themselves about its meaning.
This status is an honor and it permits SMRCA to receive specific grants or monies from corporations and foundations, not given to those without a 501c3. There is much to discover about the importance and significance of our 501c3 standing and we should take every opportunity to understand how this status can benefit the future of South Middle River. In future issues of SMR Directions we will further detail aspects of the 501c3 and how our civic association can obtain maximum benefits.
