NEXT SATURDAY, MARCH 13TH THE CITY OF FORT LAUDERDALE WILL HOST THE ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE. THE DOUBLE DUTCH TEAM WILL PERFORM AND WE NEED SOUTH MIDDLE RIVER RESIDENTS TO JOIN THE PARADE BEHIND THE SOUTH MIDDLE RIVER CIVIC ASSOCIATION BANNER IN SUPPORT OF OUR NEIGHBORHOOD. WEAR YOUR GREEN! SunTrust Sunday Jazz Brunch

SunTrust Sunday Jazz Brunch is an ideal way to relax and enjoy Fort Lauderdale’s scenic Riverwalk. This free, live, outdoor concert series brings the area’s best local jazz artists. Listen to the soulful sounds on four different stages on the first Sunday of each month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to attend, including well-behaved, leashed pets. There is plenty of room to set up chairs, blankets and picnic baskets to experience the fabulous entertainment. Patrons can also stroll along the historic brick-lined walkway to enjoy live music while browsing items from local merchants and enjoying food from area restaurants.

The SunTrust Sunday Jazz Brunch is sponsored by SunTrust and is produced by the City of Fort Lauderdale’s Parks and Recreation Department.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade - Sat. March 13, 2010

 Please participate as a S.M.R.C.A. member and South Middle River resident. Wear your S.M.R.C.A. shirt…it’s sort of green! Please join the parade with the other South Middle River Civic Association members and stand proud on St. Patrick’s Day! Warfield Park Director, Sandra Sullivan, Donna Collins and Bell Jackson are organizing a “FLOAT” and the Warfield Park Double Dutch Jump Rope Team will be on board. You too should be there representing South Middle River. Our neighborhood is one of the best!

On Saturday, Feb. 27th, the Episcopal Church of the Intercession is having a Flea Market by the Community Garden at 501 NW 17th Street. All vendors are welcome to sell their products. Free tables for all non-profits. Time: 8 to 2 pm
